We are holiday addicts. 3 months had gone by with no holidays and we were all starting to get a little snappy and tired and irritable. This coupled with the luxury of the last 2 years when i was not working and we could take holidays whenever my husband could manage leave (which was quite oftne). So I took 3 days off and coupled with the 4 days long weekend on account of Easter we had a whole week to go on holdiay!
We went to Bellagio in Italy. Famous for the chalet owned by George Clooney and the frequent sightings of hi. Also famous for the breathtaking view - situated in the middle of Lake Come with the lake on all sides. Amazing. Mostly accesible by ferry, though there is a long drive to reach there as well.
We had great sunshine for a few days in which we hurriedly took in tennis sessions, leasurely walks and scootering at Lugano and Locarno, visits to Contra Dam (Verzasca) dam - amazing its famous for the jump by 007 in GoldenEye and infamous for the jumps by the twin Aamirs in Dhoom 3 :), ferry trips from Bellagio to Como (just beautiful) and children's stuff like the tree rope climbing at the Jungle Raider Park (S loved it, A not so much, I loved it too :))
Rainy days were a good time to relax. We took turns to hit the gym, go for massages and we all took long afternoon siestas. The kids were getting antsy so one of the rainy days we went to the indoor water park near Como which was surprisingly not so crowded.
Anwyay now we are back refreshed after our holiday and ready to move onto the next one next week (4 day weekend on account of May day)
